Y/Project X Canada Goose
Fusing his deconstructionist aesthetic with iconic outerwear, Glenn Martens presents his Y/Project collaborative collection with Canada Goose.
First teased during the Y/Project menswear AW20 runway show, this six piece capsule embraces the tradition of Canada Goose by taking signature silhouettes and reworking the shape to embody Y/Project’s sculptural style. Glenn Martens’ take on the timeless design of Canada Goose focuses on the unexpected, through the artful reconstruction of each piece. Founded in 1957 by Sam Tick, Canada Goose is well renowned for its pioneering winter coats and, in recent years, has collaborated with luxury brands including Vetements and OVO by Drake. Pairing with Y/Project’s conceptual ethos, this Canadian and Parisian design fusion is a match made in collaborative heaven.
The sculptural collection of coats and jackets plays with unique features, including asymmetric details, warped seams and unorthodox fastenings. With a mix of oversized, cropped and puffer jackets, the collaborative capsule presents double hoods, twisted openings and dual branding across a variety of shades that mimic Y/Project’s AW20 colour palette. A master of the larger-than-life silhouette Glenn Martens’ Y/Project X Canada Goose pieces pair perfectly with the brand’s loose fit jeans and oversized twisted tops.
The Y/Project X Canada Goose collection launches soon on brownsfashion.com, stay tuned for more updates on this exciting drop.
