Yueqi Qi Woman

Central Saint Martins graduate Yueqi Qi is on a mission to present and celebrate traditional Chinese craftsmanship on a global stage. Founding her eponymous label in 2019, the designer playfully explores mutations of tradition through contemporary expressions of craft. With complex beading and embellishments taking centre stage, Yueqi Qi presents intricately crafted garments that not only tell stories of Chinese history but also reveal something universal about the human condition. For her latest collection, the designer also recruited local women from her Guangzhou neighbourhood to help her sew, bead and embellish her garments, and continues to work with them today.
