Since its inception in 1917, Balenciaga has changed guises more than we’ve changed outfits. Today, the label centres on the concept of ‘destructing to create' with experimentation firmly at the core of its design vision. Disregarding industry conventions, archival pieces are recreated with strong shapes, oversized silhouettes and sculptural tailoring - all the while maintaining the artistic integrity of the founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga.
