Having travelled to the United States from Jamaica at 16, Matthew Harris discovered his passion for jewellery in New York City. He launched Mateo in 2009, with the first collection focused on strictly men’s pieces inspired by the contents of a toolbox. Women’s  jewellery followed in 2014, boasting modern pieces that utilised precious metals bejewelled with diamonds and gemstones.
