HOKA
With the intention of designing a unique shoe that would allow them to run downhill faster, Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard founded France-based athletic shoe company Hoka One One in 2009. Its name was taken from a Maori phrase that means ‘to fly over the earth’ – and once you’ve experienced a day in the brand’s shoes, you’ll know just what that feels like. Originally embraced by ultramarathon runners due to the inherent stability, its shoes quickly became popular with all types of runners due to the enhanced cushioning and minimal weight that translated into top potential on the track, in the field or on the road. From the Clifton 8 and Kawana styles to the Speedgoat and lightweight Bondi collection, there’s a pair for everyone here. Why run when you can fly with Hoka One One?
