Fendi Mania Is Here!
Two worlds have collided to present one of the most exciting capsule collections of the season suitable titled Fendi Mania.
Luxury powerhouse Fendi has joined forces with heritage sportswear giant Fila to create a unique collaboration across menswear and womenswear that has been highly anticipated since its unveiling at Milan Fashion Week in February this year.
Sportswear and designer fashion has swiftly become one of the most desirable partnerships that create a wave of hysteria amongst the fashion elite and ‘grail’ seeking sneakerheads. In an era of Off-White x Nike, Vetements x Reebok and Louis Vuitton x Supreme, it was only a matter of time before another pairing hit the runway to steal our attention.
Like Fendi, Fila was founded in Italy and has had somewhat of a resurgence since it was taken over by the South Korean market in 2007, making it the largest sportswear brand in South Korea. The collection adopts much of Fila’s design DNA with a selection of t-shirts, puffer jackets, tracksuits, bags and two sneaker styles.
Our fascination with this 90s branding continues to dominate our wardrobes and this capsule will feed this growing need as each piece is adorned with the iconic FF print or the large collaborative logo.
The two sneaker silhouettes play into the ever popular “dad” shoe trend with the introduction of a chunky style and a sock fit high top. Both are presented in the classic Fila colourway of red, white and blue with a bold logo placement. The ready-to-wear blends the most recognisable elements from both brands that results in playful, rebellious collection unlike anything the two have done before.
