Three Words To Describe Your Style: Chic, chic, chic!
Favourite Designer: I don’t tend to have favourites, but at the moment I am really into LOEWE, Bottega Veneta, Christopher Esber, Miu Miu and KHAITE.
At a party, where can we normally find you?
At the bar.
Where will you be heading in each of these outfits?
I’ll wear the Saint Laurent bodysuit with Amina Muaddi heels to The Connaught on a hot date. 16Arlington and Balenciaga are perfect for annual Christmas dinner parties with my best friends. Then for festive drinks at the pub after work, I’ll be in the Blumarine sweater and 1017 ALYX 9SM vinyl skirt.
You’re making your entrance in your chosen looks - what song would be playing in the background?
Me Against the Music (feat. Madonna) by Britney Spears.
Why have you chosen these brands in particular?
I love where these brands are going and what they are doing at the moment. They feel exciting to me.
Which item will you be reaching for the most?
The Bottega Veneta Jodie bag. She’s very cute worn like an arm band and makes any outfit feel festive.
Please briefly tell us about your career trajectory so far, from your beginnings to your role as a stylist.
As most stylists will say, a lot of late nights and no weekends! But in a real nutshell… I dropped out of studying photography to be a Condé Nast fashion assistant and did the rounds there. After that I was very lucky enough to have assisted some incredible editorial stylists. Then I took on a role as creative director at Illustrated People. During that I started to take on music clients and now more recently started shooting more editorial again.
Of all those you’ve styled previously, has there been a look or occasion that stands out the most?
I really loved collaborating with Philosophy last year for The Brits.
What’s a career highlight?
This, obviously!
Is there anyone whose style you aspire to?
Samantha from Sex in the City and Meredith Blake in Parent Trap. Both glamorous women with a good blow-dry, referencing the best of ‘80s and ‘90s power dressing.
What’s the next piece you’re looking to add to your wardrobe?
Some knee-high flat boots, I’ve still not found the perfect pair.
What’s your number one rule for building the perfect ensemble?
There are no rules, but I find picking a hero item and building up the look around that is a good place to start.
Where’s your favourite place to go out in London?
Probably Chiltern Firehouse for drinks and dancing or, for something cosier and tastier, The Camberwell Arms. I also went to The Shard for the first time ever recently, which is quite a fun place to go for a drink with a view before dinner.
What’s next?
A new website and maybe a Pomeranian.
What are two things you can’t live without?
Dracula (my long haired Scottish Fold) and a good face oil.
Where in the world holds a fun memory for you?
Japan.
If you were a piece of clothing, what would you be?
My Rick Owens cream silk top. I found her in a vintage shop in Notting Hill years ago and it feels very me - I can’t see myself ever not wanting to wear her.
Tell us a secret?
I drink decaf coffee.
What’s the B word that best describes you?
Bouji.
