Kenneth Jay Lane
New York designer Kenneth Jay Lane launched his eponymous costume jewellery brand in 1963. Treating designs as if they were couture, with bold colours, dramatic silhouettes and quality materials, you are transported back to a bygone era fit for apéritifs at Downton Abbey. Once declaring, 'I am myself a fabulous fake', he is the man who made costume jewellery the real deal and at home in trinket boxes belonging to the likes of Jackie O, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. Crystal-sprayed chokers and chandelier earrings define the trajectory of the Browns edit, with oversized chain link bracelets and neon bursts of colour acting as tasty side dishes.
