What Went Down: Peggy Gou Drops Kirin At Browns East!
Peggy Gou knows how to party and the Kirin launch event last Friday was no exception.
To celebrate the DJ’s fashion debut, loyal fans descended on Browns East to meet and greet the global superstar herself. With crowds congregating outside the store well ahead of the 5pm kick off, the excitement in the air was palpable.
Passing through the store’s entrance, visitors were treated to a glimpse of the collection, with key styles hung from large wooden crates to showcase full looks of Peggy’s signature Haetae-print pieces, as well as Kirin’s must-have slick red trench. Waiting in anticipation for her arrival, Peggy’s friend DJ Maktoop kept guests entertained, amping up the energy with some techno tunes.
The ‘Gou-mania’ reached a climax when Peggy entered the building. Sporting her Kirin Guns Print Boyfriend Jeans with a black blazer and her signature sunglasses, Peggy’s look was a lesson in smart-casual dressing - one music and fashion enthusiasts alike can now emulate thanks to her Kirin collection.
For an artist with such a devoted following, it’s clear the love goes both ways. Smiling from ear to ear, Peggy greeted her guests warmly with hugs, snapping selfies and signing copies of her vinyls alongside an exclusive shirt available for purchase at the event.
Moving across the store to join Maktoop behind the decks to end the night, whilst blasting her global hit ‘Starry Night’, Peggy danced along with the crowd, mouthing the words as everyone sang with her. Fans roared with delight as Peggy made her way out of the store, hotfooting it to join friends and industry insiders for a Fashion Week dinner hosted by Browns at The Standard.
