Fine Jewellery
With the gifting season in full swing, it seems only fitting to introduce you (and your significant other…wink wink) to our hottest fine jewellery brands for that last minute investment.
With diamonds aplenty, these jewellers provide enough investment pieces to put Liz Taylor’s collection to shame. From the ethereal beauty of Jacquie Aiche to the hedonistic SHAY, these precious pieces will easily find their way to the top of your wishlist.
Shay
Whether you are attending an elite soiree or fulfilling your dream of being an international rap sensation, SHAY fine jewellery has the perfect piece to keep up with your excessive lifestyle. Created by mother/daughter duo, Ladan and Tania Shayan, SHAY’s collections take elements from both generations to create pieces that are wearable and investment worthy for women of all ages. Designed to mix and match and stack together, SHAY’s jewellery plays with geometric shapes, Art Deco inspiration and contemporary styling to produce an unmistakable aesthetic. Like many of our favourite fine jewellers, SHAY’s necklaces, bracelets and rings are handmade in LA and use endless diamonds and precious stones set in 18kt gold and platinum.
Jacquie Aiche
With a mixed heritage of Egyptian/Native American, Jacquie Aiche draws her inspiration from these rich dynasties when creating her opulent pieces. Mixing American fossils, turquoise and abalone with Middle Eastern hammered gold and amulets, her fine jewellery represents a unique fusion of culture. Her foray into jewellery began with her selling simple pieces at the store where she worked on Sunset Plaza, eventually leading to her launching her Beverly Hills based brand in 2008, gaining a long list of celebrity clientele. Alongside her opal, diamond and labradorite jewellery comes an exclusive collection of custom Rolex watches. Using vintage timepieces, Jacquie has added her own creative techniques, placing diamonds and her signature motifs. Become part of the #JATribe, layer up the necklaces, stack the bracelets and add a Rolex for good measure.
Gigi Clozeau
Born in the South of France, Gigi Clozeau’s jewellery has a bohemian energy with an elegant touch. Creating fine jewellery has been Gigi’s passion since she was young after watching her jeweller father crafting beautiful pieces. Each piece evokes an emotive story using iconic symbolism, such as her beaded pendant necklaces, and are designed to be stacked and interchanged. Using a mix of 18kt gold, resin beads and diamonds, Gigi Clozeau’s bracelets, necklaces and earrings use bold colours with delicate construction for effortless wear-ability.
Andrea Fohrman
A quick glance at Andrea Forhman’s pieces and you are immediately transported to a galaxy full of stars, moons and zodiac signs. Andrea’s celestial inspired pieces began with an exploration of her grandmother’s jewellery box alongside an interest in astrological symbolism. Using 18kt gold, recycled metals and handpicked precious stones, Andrea Fohrman’s fine jewellery is as bold as it is delicate. The night’s sky isn’t Andrea’s only source of inspiration, often using the landscape of her native LA to influence her designs. From the redwood forests to the shores of the Pacific Ocean, her colour palettes utilise the earth’s elements, mixing deep blues and turquoises with rich mauves and garnet. Her necklaces allow you to carry a little slice of the moon around your neck, giving you universal energy throughout your day.
Loquet
Transforming the idea of a precious keepsake and bringing a contemporary approach to the locket is what makes Loquet so unique. Based in London, Loquet is the product of two best friends, journalist Sheherazade Goldsmith and model Laura Bailey. The concept begins with a clear crystal case set in gold, that can be opened and filled with beautiful charms that have a personal meaning to you. Ranging from diamond letters to birthstones, each necklace can be personalised with collectible charms to reflect the wearer, meaning no two are the same.
Suzanne Kalan
It is hard to describe Suzanne Kalan fine jewellery without using the adjectives, sparkling, glistening and unmistakably dazzling. With over 30 years’ experience in luxury jewellery, Suzanne’s pieces are not designed for the shy wallflower types, they are meant to be seen. Designed and made in California, Suzanne uses a variety of baguette cut diamonds that she sets in her own unique asymmetric and symmetric way. Suzanne was also the mastermind behind the ‘Vitrine’ concept which has become her design signature, a method of cutting the precious stones flat on the top and bottom and then layering them to reveal a diamond panel underneath. Born Suzanne Kalandijan in Lebanon, jewellery making was in her blood, growing up in her father’s jewellery store where she learnt the skills that would lead her to create these spectacular displays of expertly set jewels. These diamonds truly are forever…
Lizzie Mandler
Understated and beautifully elegant, Lizzie Mandler Fine Jewellery uses contemporary, geometric shapes to house a variety of expertly cut diamonds and precious stones. Designed to be timeless, each piece is handcrafted in Los Angeles where she draws attention to the craftsmanship and fine materials alongside the linear metal work. Described on Lizzie’s Instagram page as “irreverently modern, covered in diamonds”, her pieces rework the simple chain link necklace, cuff bracelet and gold band. She transforms these minimalistic jewellery items into delicate symbols of affluence that are easy to wear and will be a forever staple in your jewellery box.
