Y/PROJECT x UGG - Dare To Wear?

The renegades of the runway strike again with their unique reinvention of the classic UGG boot. Our favourite guilty pleasures from the noughties have returned - the windbreakers, the velour tracksuits and now the ultimate casual boot. Love them or hate them, there is no denying they are the king of comfort and now Y/PROJECT have taken that comfort to the extreme.
The brand that brought us denim chaps has reinvented this humble sheepskin boot with a selection of super oversized boots, slides and stiletto heels. Glenn Martens, Creative Director of Y/PROJECT describes the thigh boots as “putting your thighs in butter", and we couldn’t agree more. We are embracing these cosy companions waiting patiently for the winter chill, so we can live in them…quite literally, they are that big.
Y/PROJECT are leading the way with their approach to androgynous fashion, using ‘eccentric references’ that ‘transcend versatility.’ Their AW18 collections across menswear and womenswear continue to break the rules when it comes to gender-defined silhouettes, draping both sexes in billowing shapes and multiple layers. Their collaboration with UGG Australia is no exception, taking a slouch boot to the next level, thigh level to be exact. In addition to the replacement trouser boots, they have multiplied fur cuffs to create what looks like the Russian doll of boots - a boot within a boot, within a boot.
So how do you wear such a daring boot you may ask? There is no right or wrong answer as Y/PROJECT have always challenged convention and we like to do the same. Whether you are rocking them in a snowy setting or wearing them to the supermarket, they are sure to make a statement.
The Y/PROJECT x UGG collaboration is dropping very soon at Browns to revolutionise your winter wardrobe.
