When Tony Hawk came to Browns East
On a rainy Friday in Shoreditch, a certain skating superstar was kickflipping around Club Row, causing passersby to double take and mouth ‘wait…was that Tony Hawk?’ to each other. That’s right, Tony Hawk was here.

The man himself jetted in from California to visit Browns East and celebrate the launch of his Tony Hawk Signature Line capsule collection created in collaboration with renowned photographer Anton Corbijn and also totally exclusive to Browns. Here is what went down…
From 5pm, crowds started to gather and wait in line outside the boutique, ready to catch a glimpse of their childhood hero and be one of the first to purchase a piece from his exclusive collection; even the smallest humans arrived at Browns East clutching their boards in the hope of meeting their icon. A unique buzz of excitement hung in the air as Tony Hawk came in to meet his fans, signing limited-edition decks and taking the time to speak to everyone that was lucky enough to attend.

Inspiring photographs of Tony Hawk with fellow skaters shot by the legendary Anton Corbijn were on display surrounded by T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies from the collection that were being eagerly snapped up by guests. The heavy knit jersey items all feature the photographs shot by Anton as patches, prompting all to take a closer look at the black, sky blue and lime green pieces.
Whilst the like-minded crowd indulged in memories of attempting to ollie and binge-watching the X Games they enjoyed delicious baby burritos (the cheeseburger one…TDF!) and margaritas courtesy of Bad Sports. DJs Maurice Alexander and Martelo from Bad Sports took over the decks, playing some Pro Skater classics and providing the soundtrack for a somewhat surreal and pretty rad evening.
