Coperni
Named after the philosopher Copernicus, this young Parisian label’s philosophy is one we can get on board with. Delivering a creative vision that focuses on contemporary tailoring, slick cuts and sculptural accessories, Coperni is the brainchild of ex-Courrèges artistic directors Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer. “It’s all about chicness and innovation. It’s this idea of having a practical, efficient wardrobe, with plenty of desirable pieces that you can mix together effortlessly. Chic with a touch of futurism,” they explain. Making waves with an Instagram-first bandersnatch campaign featuring model pals Teddy Quinlivan and Hanne Gaby Odiele, the concept was titled “Copernize Your Life”. We don’t need telling twice...
Susan Fang
Fusing fashion, fine art and mathematics, London-based Susan Fang creates her conceptual pieces using mathematical formulas as her inspiration. Founded in 2017, the former Central Saint Martins graduate uses the idea of repetition and rhythm to transform her textiles into unique, sculptural clothing and accessories. This season Fang turns dresses, skirts and bags into ethereal creations using silk organza fabrications, crystal beading and air-weaving techniques.
Sunflower
Copenhagen-based menswear brand Sunflower have taken a step into a new realm with their first womenswear capsule, designed exclusively for Browns. Upon seeing the label’s menswear offering, Browns’ Next Gen buyer Cos presented designer Ulrick Pederson with a proposition - why not try making some of his ultra-desirable pieces for the womenswear audience? With a focus on timeless pieces in muted tones, made using the finest fabrics sourced in Italy, Sunflower delivers style longevity with their collection of elevated basics. Think perfect jeans, great knits and easy tailoring essentials.
Hyke
Based in Japan, Hyke designers Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode use the concept of ‘heritage and evolution’ to influence their designs. Inspired by traditional American workwear staples and a shared love of vintage fashion, (the two previously ran a vintage shop together) the duo took style cues from military dressing this season, creating an updated version of the Air Force jacket and the oversized parka alongside a range of faux furry outerwear options.
Batsheva
Self-taught designer and former lawyer, Batsheva Hay draws on vintage Americana and modest religious dress as her primary source of inspiration. Prompted by her fashion photographer husband Alexei Hay’s religious journey from secular to Orthodox Judaism, Batsheva began considering the idea of modest clothing. After remaking her favourite ‘80s Laura Ashley dress, she decided to add her own spin on this Victorian style and Batsheva was born. With ruffled high necks, puffy sleeves and raised waists, Batsheva has created the dresses you dreamed of as a little girl, designed for the modern woman.
