Moncler Genius presents 8 Moncler Palm Angels
In February Moncler unveiled its unique creative project, Moncler Genius. A hub of culture and style, it brings together nine different designer collaborative projects to explore individual visions that talk to every generation whilst remaining deeply rooted to Moncler’s rich heritage.
The latest collection to arrive from this exciting collaboration also happens to be Moncler’s Art Director Francesco Ragnazzi’s own brand, Palm Angels. A celebration of the LA skate culture, Palm Angels started life as a photography project by Francesco, featuring in a coffee table book published by Rizzoli in 2014. Now its own ready-to-wear brand, Palm Angels has brought its streetwear-infused aesthetic and combined it with the undeniable luxury of Moncler.

Referencing Palm Angels’ photographic beginnings, the capsule takes its inspiration from ‘Mind Control’ and explores the gaze into unique subculture communities. Using bright colours, graffiti prints and slogans, the result is described by Moncler as a mix of an “art gallery atmosphere and abrasive urban attitude”. The collection features a range of Moncler’s signature puffer jackets in a variety of candy colours, t-shirts, hoodies and ‘rave’-inspired trousers.
“I started with the idea of a vandalized art gallery. The purity of lines and form that are in a second moment clashed with a protest. Moncler for me is about the simplicity of a product that comes to life in many forms. I wanted to have that form broken.” – Francesco Ragnazzi

As part of the Moncler Genius project which presents a new drop every month, Palm Angels now joins an all-star line-up of cutting-edge designers that also includes Simone Rocha, Craig Green and 1017 ALYX 9SM. These series of capsules fuse fashion, music and art and Francesco has used Jeff Koons as part of his concept, infusing his pieces with sickly metallic shades and voluminous shapes.
