Introducing...High Performance
Sportswear has become a dominant force in our wardrobes for the past few seasons with high fashion succumbing to the athleisure trend, mixing technical apparel and footwear with luxury ready-to-wear.
Now, whilst all the elevated activewear we have added to our collection may not serve the purpose for which it was originally designed, we are starting to invest more in functional, high-performance sportswear, ensuring we have not only style but comfort also.
With fitness becoming one of our most popular hobbies and technology influencing so much of our daily lives, it is only fitting that our clothing and footwear is now designed to support maximum performance when participating in our favourite sport.
For spring/summer ’19, our Menswear Buyers have scoured the globe for the most progressive and efficient activewear that is at the top of its game for its intended sport. Exploring the running, cycling and hiking communities, these new-to-Browns brands have unique technologies that support their sport as a lifestyle.
In celebration of this exciting launch, let us introduce you to the new high-performance brands that will keep you moving this summer.
Run
Soar
Founded by fashion designer, DJ and keen runner Tim Soar, Soar Running was born out of a passion to create athletic gear that outperforms. Filling a gap in the market for all-weather running apparel discovered whilst Tim himself ran the streets of wet and windy London, Soar is designed for amateur runners facing the unpredictable elements. Using the most advanced technical fabrics, there are pieces that moderate body temperature, keep you dry and compress in the right places whilst you move.
To kick off the celebration of high performance activewear arriving at Browns, we hosted a Browns run with Soar on the 3rd April. Starting off from Browns East at 6.30pm our runners, which included our very own Menswear Buying Director Dean Cook and Menwear Buyer Lee Goldup, braved the unseasonable snow storm for an 8k run, arriving back at the store for some well deserved drinks. Check out their journey @brownsfashion
Satisfy

After becoming ‘obsessed’ with running, Brice Partouche (an ex denim designer) founded Paris-based label, Satisfy. With an effortlessly cool aesthetic, Satisfy delivers technical running apparel with luxury craftsmanship. Using fabrics usually reserved for the professionals, Satisfy brings expert technology to the most amateur of runners. Inspired by Partouche’s first love of skateboarding and punk rock, this is running gear with a rebellious edge. A perfect blend of high performance and lifestyle, Satisfy’s clothing and accessories can be worn on and off the track.
To get warmed up before the London Marathon 2019 and in celebration of the anniversary of our first Browns run with Satisfy we will be hosting a second run on the 27th April. Starting off from the Browns East store at 8.30am and ending with a healthy breakfast back at the store, it is the perfect start to a running filled weekend. Sign up now by emailing rsvp@brownsfashion.com to come run with us.
