Mizuno | Got Us Running Like ASIMO...
Introducing a new brand to Browns that is not only synonymous with high-performance footwear but it definitely helped Rivaldo win Brazil the World Cup in 2002.
The Mizuno dynasty started in Osaka, Japan in 1906 and has always been at the forefront of sports craftsmanship and technical innovation. Osaka Japan’s second largest city has fast become a technically advanced hub filled with exciting start-ups, environmentally friendly projects and pharmaceutical research labs. As masters of ‘kaizen’, the Japanese are constantly improving their methods and striving for perfection in every creation, which is evident in these Mizuno sneakers.
In recent years the lines between luxury fashion and sportswear have become increasingly blurred. This has been taken one step further with the introduction of high-performance innovation. A need for quality, technical prowess and new sneakers has resulted in footwear that has a dual purpose: lifestyle and, in the words of Mizuno ‘a power to perform’.
We have developed a slight infatuation with high-performance sportswear thanks to our Menswear Buying Manager and avid cyclist Dean Cook. We asked him why it’s such an important part of menswear this season.
“We’ve introduced several high-performance footwear brands this season which I’m really excited about. From Hoka One One to Salomon S Lab, these brands are not your average trainers; they’re engineered to perfection.” – Dean Cook, Menswear Buying Manager.
We enjoy a taste of Japan here at Browns and Mizuno sits well with our impressive inventory of Japanese designer brands including Visvim, Sulvam, Wtaps and Children of Discordance, to name but a few. These avant-garde designers are in good company alongside high-performance footwear as both experiment with shapes, technology and pioneering materials. Japanese design has always centred on the craft, challenged style and led the way in technology. From a nation that brought us the running robot ASIMO, it is clear that they are the modern masters of innovation.
