What Went Down: KLOSS X Browns
It was a balmy Friday evening when guests began trickling into the Browns Brook Street courtyard, tentatively sipping champagne under the foliage, wide-eyed at the realisation that, yes, this was indeed a real life event. No one was on mute, no screens were shared, and the only children in evidence were those that intentionally joined the meeting (notably Vogue’s Sarah Harris’ daughter - likely discussing Browns’ recent and much-hyped kidswear debut.)

After a-year-and-a-half of pivots to online and live streamed events, Browns’ knack for a good night out was finally able to flex its IRL muscles once more, thanks to the launch of Alec Maxwell’s KLOSS debut merch collection. The night saw a celebration of his brand new book, an array of sexy and stylish selfies from beautiful humans around the world, and an accompanying series of consciously-produced tees.
As host for the night, Maxwell welcomed his stylish coterie of friends and collaborators into the cloistered Native surrounds, where the likes of Riccardo Tisci, Aweng Chuol, Kristen McMenamy and Browns favourites Otamere Guobadia and Bibi Abdulkadir nibbled on foraged mushroom treats and Native’s famed Fish Fillet mini burgers. Upstairs in the Yellow Room, guests were invited to peruse the full KLOSS collection, with inimitable DJs HaleZero on the decks playing a set which floated down to guests in the courtyard below.

Aweng Chuol, Bobby Jack Brazier and Keenan Gyamfi joined the likes of Sophia Hadjipanteli and Otamere Guobadia at the event.
In the months that had elapsed since our last in-person event, it was clear that little had changed when it came to the Browns party DNA. Whilst smaller and more intimate, the ingredients remained the same: fabulous food, fabulous company and some truly fabulous 'fits. Many wore KLOSS tees - some emblazoned with artworks created in collaboration with Aweng Chuol, Daniel Lismore, Niki M’Nray and Philip Daniel Ducasse. Other guests pulled out all the style stops in head-to-toe Mugler, Burberry, Casablanca and more.
Perhaps it was the Native Negronis; perhaps it was the delight of finally being together; perhaps it was a combination of the two, but suffice to say the 8pm finish time stretched to 8.30, then 9, as guests made the most of some long-awaited summer revelry. Filtering out into Brook Street at the end, it felt like a long-awaited return to fun, frivolity and togetherness - the essence of both KLOSS and Browns combined.
