Your Happy Place at Browns East
January may be (finally) over but we are still feeling the effects of the post-holiday haze. Browns is giving you the opportunity to banish your winter blues by welcoming you into the ultimate happy place.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (a.k.a. SAD) which is also known as “winter depression” affects around two million people in the UK and Ireland alone. Here to banish those feelings and pump up your positivity, Browns East has installed a floor-to-ceiling SAD-combatting light in the Immersive Room to offer you some respite from the gloom. The happy light emits 10,000 LUX worth of light and studies have shown that when you sit in front of the light box for around 30 minutes it gives you the right ‘dose’ to trigger optimal biochemical changes in your brain. The full spectrum light will help you regulate your melatonin levels to combat your sleepiness and boost your serotonin to make you feel happy.
In combination with the light installation, the Immersive Room will emulate a Japanese garden with a selection of lush greenery, alongside a carefully concocted aroma of brain-boosting rosemary and clarifying lemon verbena to conjure the sweet scent of serenity.
Providing the soundtrack to your moment of calm, BeBox have enhanced the experience with a neuro-sonic soundscape, supported by science and inspired by nature to play whilst you recharge and restore. This multi-dimensional sound journey will guide you deeper into the power and beauty of the present moment, with health-orientated sonic tones and techniques composed by Lasse Mosegard to ignite the brain’s limbic system and balance the mind.
The Happy Place at Browns East experience will run until the 31st March 2020. No booking necessary.
