The Drop: Heron Preston x Carhartt WIP
If you love streetwear and regularly frequent a building site, this is the collab for you…
Heron Preston, the man that championed roadworker chic, has teamed up with workwear giant Carhartt to produce an exclusive capsule collection of apparel and accessories that are built to last. Fusing construction worker style with streetwear, these winter-proof utilitarian styles will undoubtedly endure the elements.
Using a grungy colour palette against Heron Preston’s classic bright orange, the men’s and women’s collections include paint splattered jackets and trousers, leaf camo print accessories and t-shirts with all over “Industry Workwear” branding. These rough and ready pieces feature both brands’ iconic logos and have a unique durable appeal that redefines classic streetwear.
Functional clothing has now become a streetwear staple and has developed into a ‘uniform’ that survives trends. The industrial aesthetic favoured by Heron Preston looks at the heavy-duty pieces that dress our public services workers and tradesmen which makes its pairing with Carhartt the perfect collision of American workwear.
