Wish You Were Here... Cici Valentine

Once known as Carly Russ, the musician and model now goes by Cici Valentine, the name of her musical alter ego. Here she takes us on a tour of the City of Angels, a land of sun, sand and, especially in Cici’s case, style.

Where are you right now and what are you doing? 
I’m having a cocktail inside my hotel at Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, California.

How would you sum up what you do in a sentence?
I’m on a constant hunt for the best vintage while simultaneously giving people tunes to add to their summer playlist.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? 
I've always loved clothes. I think I remember telling my mom I wanted to shop for a living. She told me to win the lottery.

What did you do on your last day off?
Went to the pool and put my phone on do not disturb.

What's your greatest ambition?
Designing my own clothing line.

What's the last dream that you can remember having?
I think I dreamt that I was getting married but woke up at the chapel and didn’t have a dress or shoes.

If you could do anything without fear of repercussion, what would you do?
Jump off a skyscraper! (with a parachute attached, of course)

If you could ask anyone a question, who would you ask, and what?
I would ask Dolly Parton if she could adopt me.

Loyal, nurturing and leggy.

The perfect night out?
Wearing my sparkly platforms, having a dirty martini at my favorite local nostalgic joint, and finishing the night with disco.

The funniest person you know?
My boyfriend.

One thing you can’t live without?
Getting my nails done every 2 weeks. If I don’t, I crumble.

Dim sum.

New York pizza.

What was your first job?
Modeling.

Who or what inspires you?
Anything campy or over the top in the best way.

Never sleep with your makeup on.
