Converse and Browns to host pop-up in celebration of Converse x Koché x Faith Connexion x Feng Chen Wang
Browns is partnering with Converse on an exciting new project on the 26th and 27th of April. This two-day event will celebrate the launch of three cohesive designer collaborations with Koché, Feng Chen Wang and Faith Connexion, showcasing their individual style across shoes and ready to wear.
These three rising designers have reimagined the heritage and culture of Converse whilst maintaining its core DNA elements by taking iconic silhouettes that explore the themes of basketball, court and utility. This collaboration is Converse’s biggest offering to date, introducing new sneakers and apparel that champion women’s streetwear.
Koché
Founded in 2015 and based in Paris, Koché is the creative brainchild of Christelle Kocher that fuses ‘couture-know how with a streetwear attitude’. A finalist of the LVMH prize in 2016, Christelle is also the artistic director of Chanel Group’s Maison D’Art Lemarié. Covering the court sports, Koché fuses high-fashion and sportswear with a range of pieces that explore colour block prints with a patchwork construction. Her playful style encapsulates the feminine approach to streetwear with a selection of polo dresses, oversized tees and colourful accessories that complement the Rina, Mary Jane and classic Jack Purcell sneakers.
Faith Connexion
Based in Paris, anonymous design collective Faith Connexion was founded in 2005 but made its mark on the scene 10 years later under Christophe Decarnin. Now with the creative direction of Nikola Vasari, it uses a variety of young talent that experiments with fashion, art and culture, taking a rebellious attitude that captures the essence of streetwear. With a number of collaborations already under their belt, including Kappa, their diverse aesthetic reworked with Converse is the perfect celebration of modern youth. Using the utilitarian approach, Faith Connexion’s capsule reworks Converse’s camo print with graffiti branding across windbreakers, hoodies and shorts. Alongside the grungy apparel comes the iconic sneaker silhouettes of the Runstar, One Star MID and One Star OX.
Feng Chen Wang
Born in China and based in London, Feng Chen Wang studied MA Fashion Menswear at Royal College of Art before launching her namesake label in 2016. Nominated for the LVMH prize the same year, Feng Chen Wang’s style is as she describes, ‘bold, futuristic and structured’. Referencing the basketball culture that put Converse on the map, Feng Chen Wang blends this with sporty streetstyle to create a collection that explores female empowerment. These off-court kits include a mix of tracksuits, hoodies and mesh tees alongside the chunky ERX 260 sneaker and retro Chuck 70 Hi.
