The designer responsible for the must-have moon print gives us a peek into a day in the life of one of Paris’ hottest young labels.


What’s your full name and where are you from?
Marine Serre, and I was born in Brive in Corrèze.
How did you get your start in fashion?
I started collecting garments as an adolescent and trying them all on myself.
Where are you living now and where did you grow up?
I’m living in the upper north of Paris. I grew up in Corrèze until my 13th birthday, then I went to Limoges, Marseille, Brussels…
First thing you do in the morning?
Kiss.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I can be both now - it’s currently 3am and I’m writing this interview.
How do you get to your studio?
Biking, always.

People!

Where do you go for ideas?
To the street.
Describe an average day at Marine Serre.
Bike to the studio, take care of urgent emails, work on the collection, work late (really late) then bike home when the streets are quiet.
What kind of music do you play at work?
Depending on the mood, it can go from Underground Resistance to Prince.
What do you do when your schedule is clear?
It is never clear…
What are your favourite qualities in others?
Care and kindness.
What do you wish there were more of in the world?
Glaciers.


What do you wish there was less of?
Water.
Who is someone (living or dead) that you would like to meet and why?
Prince, cause he was a genius.
What do you do when you leave the studio?
It depends honestly - I work super late every day at the moment, but in an easier period, I do tennis, running, dancing or drinking with friends.
Best way to relax?
Sex or sleep.
What’s the last thing you do before bed?
Depends, but I usually brush my teeth.
