These black and gold Nicholas Kirkwood 18mm 'Beya' patent leather loafers have us chanelling Josephine Baker circa 1930. A signature model from the footwear label, the 18mm 'Beya' shoe has been designed for the new season with a point toe, black patent leather bow embellishment at the front and a gold sequin embroidered animal pattern across the upper. Complete with a 18 Mm flat stacked heel and beige leather insole, we'll be wearing our Nicholas Kirkwood slip-on flats with our new Alexander McQueen dress and biker jacket on our next visit to Somerset House.

MEET THE DESIGNER
The Browns' Edit of Nicholas Kirkwood encapsulates the shoe designer's off-kilter aesthetic. Born in Germany, Kirkwood studied fine arts at Central Saint Martins and briefly studied at Cordwainers. Working with Philip Treacy helped Kirkwood realise his career aim, to replicate in shoes what Treacy did for hats: make artistically creative statement pieces. Rejecting ornamental decoration in favour of sculptural glamour, Kirkwood has not only triumphed with his own namesake line but has made collaborative collections with the likes of Rodarte, Erdem and Peter Pilotto.
