Acclaimed jewellery designer Philip Crangi draws his inspiration from history; Greco-Roman artifacts, Baroque ironwork and Japanese armour to name but a few. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Philip and his sister, Courtney Crangi, began creating unique objects and jewellery from their New York city studio. In 2001, the Crangi's launched their costume jewellery line, Giles & Brother. The brand is a fashion forward costume jewellery line and spawns from personal, whimsical charm pieces to large and overstated baubles. The collections always deliver an edgy and fresh aesthetic, making Giles & Brother a model for industry trends. The inspiration for the Autumn/Winter 09 collection comes from a unique combination of raw materials, such as metal zig zag ebony beads, emerald rhinestones and ebony beads with acid yellow accents. When joined, they create a look that is Machine Age meets Tribal, meets Art Deco. All of the pieces are handmade and assembled in Philip Crangi's Manhattan studio.
