The Browns' Edit of Balenciaga reflects the distinctive and radical style of the maison. The House of Balenciaga was founded in 1919 in San Sebastian by Cristóbal Balenciaga. In 1937 the business was moved to Paris. In the 1930s and up until the 1960s, Cristóbal Balenciaga dictated all the major fashion trends. Today, the House of Balenciaga is still synonymous with a quality and modernity that makes no concession, the result of both its experimentation and its laboratory work on materials, volumes and techniques. Its mission is to perpetuate the dynamic influence and constant desire to refresh the codes of Cristóbal Balenciaga. In 2015 Demna Gvasalia of the lauded Parisian design collective Vetements was appointed Creative Director.
